Answer:
Waalaikumussalam wbt,
Alhamdulillah, praise and thanks to Allah for the countless blessings He has blessed us all with. Blessings and salutations to the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, his family, companions and all those that follow his teachings to the day of judgement.
Taking pills to delay one's period (menstrual cycle) so that she can complete the 30 days of fasting for Ramadhan is permissible, but it is prioritized that women should not take it and follow their natural body system. This is the opinion of Syeikh Uthaimin. This is also the opinion of Dr. Yusuf al-Qaradhawi, where he said: "In my opinion, it is best for women to follow their natural body system. The menstrual cycle is natural for women and could not be avoided. It comes from the natural order of Allah. If a woman wishes to take pills to delay her period, it is permissible, on the condition that it is not harmful towards her health. They should consult with medical specialists regarding the medication. Taking the pills will enable her to fast for the whole month and the fast will be accepted, insya-Allah." In my opinion, it is best to follow the law of nature (sunnatullah) and not take such medications.
