Question:
Assalamu‘alaikum. Is it true that the supplication of someone who fasts is not rejected?
Answer:
Waalaikumussalam wbt,
Alhamdulillah, praise and thanks to Allah for the many countless blessings He has blessed us all with. Blessings and salutations to the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, his family, companions and all those that follow his teachings to the day of judgement.
Yes, this is true in accordance with hadith Ibn Umar RA, the Prophet PBUH said:
“When the fasting person breaks his fast, his supplication is not turned back.”
Sunan Ibn Majah (1825)
According to another narration from Ibn Abi Malaikah, he heard Abdullah bin Amru made a supplication while breaking fast:
“O Allah, I seek blessing from You in everything, so that You will forgive me (my sins).”
